The relesears for small life rafts are manufactured with fiber glass reinforced with nylon to prevent the material corrosion and are activated with the water pressure, until a maximum depth of 4 meters.

They have a white cable with double link, a liberator mechanism and a red fuse wire which break tension is 1,2 ± 0,4 kN, indicated for small life rafts. The white cable is fixed to the rafy deck or cradle and tied to the fastening strap with a davit.

When activated, the knife cuts the cable, allowing the free floatation of the raft. While the boat sinks, the floating rope is stretched until the raft inflation.

It does not require an annual inspection, maintenance and spare parts, but it has to be replaced every 2 years.
